Following recent combustion of the Samsung Note 7 devices arising from defective batteries, Samsung recently issued mass recalls. They also announced that sales and production of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be discontinued.
Although, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has not being officially announced in Nigeria, some Nigerians own it. There have been calls for the Samsung office in Nigeria to make an official statement addressing the device in the country.
In a press release by Samsung, the company has stated that they are working with regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note 7. They also highlighted the discontinuance of sales globally for safety concerns.
Recently, South African Airways was the latest airline to ban the Galaxy Note 7 on its flights for safety concerns. According to Samsung, the company is committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation.
