Gionee is an Indian company that has been in the mobile phone world for some while.
It started off in Nigeria by producing all-time rugged Java phones.
Fast forward to today, Gionee is one of the popular mobile phone brands in Nigeria. Their products are known to be rugged and durable. Most importantly, equipped with long-lasting batteries. The company is competing with other brands like Tecno and Infinix.
This list contains Gionee android phones and their prices in Nigeria – starting from the latest ones. These aren’t all the latest phones released by Gionee, but they’re the latest ones available in major Nigerian online stores and most offline stores.
The short overviews are based on real-life hands-on reviews. I try to be as accurate as possible in order to give you the correct information you need.

List of Latest Gionee Android Phones in Nigeria
1. X1s (September 2017)
This is a sturdy and compact phone with a nice metallic build. The SIM tray houses 2 SIMs and a micro SDcard. This is somewhat unusual. It features a large display protected by Corning Gorilla 3, similar to Infinix Zero 5.
The phone is designed with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which helps you to quickly capture images by just placing your finger on it. It features an awesome processor, but don’t expect an excellent performance under a very heavy usage.
A good advantage I love about the phone is that the front flash helps you take pleasant selfies even in a low-lit environment. The back camera also produces clear and sharp images but suffers a great distortion under low light conditions.
It gives you long hours of usage time thanks to the huge battery that comes with it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support fast charge. This means you should expect a long charging time to obtain 100% charge from 0%.

3. A1 Lite (August 2017)
This is a smaller version of Gionee A1. The target audience is most probably selfie lovers, as it comes with a large front and back camera. Gamers will also enjoy this phone because of the flawless experience it provides even on 3D games. To complement this, the large battery acts as a backup for heavy usage.
The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla glass. This gives you an assurance that screen damage won’t be a problem for a long time (or even forever). I love that it’s encased in a metal body that features a beautiful design.
A notable downside of this device is that it gets slightly heated while charging or playing games. Other than that, the battery life and camera are awesome. Other performances are also cool.

4. A1 (April 2017)
I love the ergonomic design of this phone. It is portable and can be easily held in one hand. The device comes with a hybrid slot. This means you’ll have to choose between using dual SIM or one SIM with your memory card. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like this feature.
It comes with a fingerprint scanner that’s super fast and doubles as the physical home button. The speakers are average and get the job done. Some users feel the output on earphone and headphone is low. So, if you like listening to audio on high volume, think twice before choosing this device.
Gionee A1 gets warm when you play games or watch videos for up to 15 minutes. Some people have attributed this to the MediaTek chipset used. Well, that’s their opinion.

5. M6 Mirror (January 2017)
Just like every other smartphone, this one also has its pros and cons. As the name implies, the design makes it appear like a mirror. The back is smooth and shiny; it appears very prone to scratch, though. But the display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which gives a long-lasting protection against scratch and screen damage.
Being a 2017 device, I expected it to come with the Android 7.0 OS. Surprisingly, it’s pre-installed with the 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Fortunately, Gionee often releases OS updates for its smartphones. Hopefully, an update on this phone will be available soon.
Note that the device comes with a hybrid SIM slot. This means you can only use two SIM cards without a memory card or one SIM card with one memory card. You’d have to sacrifice a SIM slot if you must use a memory card.

6. F103 Pro (October 2016)
Gionee F103 Pro is beautifully crafted and covered with a plastic cover that’s got a fine texture. In fact, I got to know that the ‘F’ means fashion. It sports a silver quoted metal frame that gives it a gorgeous appearance similar to some iPhones. The phone supports OTG, so you can transfer files directly to a hard drive without the need of a computer.
Both SIM 1 and 2 support 4G. This is a good thing because you won’t have to remove your SIM card and switch from one slot to another to enjoy fast internet speed. The amigo interface that comes with it supports smart gestures like double tapping the screen to wake up the phone.
The camera supports autofocus. Tap the screen when you want to take a shot to get a square and then a circle. Move the circle to control the exposure as you wish.

7. M6 (September 2016)
This is a nice choice for gaming freaks who wish not to experience even the slightest hassle when catching fun. The large RAM and ROM, plus the octa-core processor, ensure that heavy gaming and multitasking is flawless on this device.
Apart from having a stunning metal body design, this phone also offers some incredible features. It can be used as a remote to control appliances like the TV and air condition. It also has the reverse charging ability, which enables it to power other devices. This makes Gionee M6 both a smartphone and a power bank.
AMOLED display, large memory, and long battery life are enough to make you fall in love with this device.

8. S6s (August 2016)
This is a large screen device with a sharp display that’s got vibrant colors. It features a full metal body with a matte gold finish. The front is, however, plastic. The back is slightly curved for easy handling with one hand.
I love that you can swipe from the bottom upward to access different features. This makes one hand usage easy since you can just click by extending a finger. The camera is sharp and has a lot of shooting modes ranging from HDR to panorama.
The Gionee custom user interface is user-friendly and gives an awesome performance. Inside the box, you find a SIM removal tool, silicon cover to protect the body, earpiece, USB cable, charger, and user guide.

9. P5 Mini (April 2016)
If you’re looking for an average phone that gets the job done, then, look no further. Gionee P5 mini is a good choice for an average user who’s not really a high-end spec freak. It is sleek and comes with a plastic body.
Right in the box, it is packed with an adapter, basic earpiece, USB cable, user guide, warranty card, and a transparent plastic case for protection. I noticed that the phone takes a bit more time to boot when it’s switched on. The performance, however, seems okay while in use.
User reviews show that multitasking and other performance are on the average. You won’t experience unnecessary lagging and freezing of your phone.

10. Marathon M5 Mini (January 2016)
The main selling point of this phone is the 4000mAh battery. In fact, it can be used as a power bank to charge other phones thanks to its reverse charging ability. The design is okay but it’s quite heavy and not very sleek. Most Gionee phones are somewhat heavy after all.
It is also packed with a plastic back cover and screen protector for more durability. The sides are laced with stainless steel bezels. This makes it even more adorable and attractive.
The charger found in the box isn’t a fast charger. Don’t expect your phone to get fully charged in a very short time. If you want a fast charging phone, go for one of the latest Infinix phones.

11. Pioneer P5W (January 2016)
There’s nothing really special about this budget phone. But you get enough functionality, which makes me feel it’s worth the money. The glossy plastic body makes it awesome. Just that it gets a bit messy with your fingerprints all over the back after holding it for a while. This is a minor issue, though.
The phone is accompanied by 2 extra back covers of vibrant colors inside the box. But I’m not sure these extra covers are found in every pack.
It has the Gionee customized Amigo skin that provides various features and gestures. The performance is normal and doesn’t show any sign of a lagging device. Swipe down for notifications and up to access several other features. The only not-so-good feature, for me, is the low battery capacity. This won’t be a problem if you’re not a heavy user.

12. Marathon M5 Plus (December 2015)
This is a large device suitable for big hands. It sports a full metal body and feels sturdy when you hold it in your hand. It doesn’t feel too heavy even with the battery inserted in it. The fingerprint sensor is very responsive; it works instantly without delay.
Get ready to spend as much time as you wish with the huge 5020mAh battery. You still get the option to switch to different power saving modes in order to get even longer usage time. The reverse charging ability is a good thing since it allows you to charge other phones.
This is most definitely a good choice for gaming freaks, considering the combo of the large battery, memory, and processor speed. No time for lagging!
