Samsung Galaxy A60 Design And Display
Samsung Galaxy A60 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a punch-hole cutout for its single front facing camera which Samsung calls the “Infinity-O Display”. However, unlike the Samsung Galaxy A8s and S10 Trio, the punch-hole that houses the camera sits at the top left side of the display instead of the top right as with the aforementioned devices.
There is also no speaker grill here as it uses Samsung’s screencast feature which makes use of the whole screen as the speaker. Like almost all other notched devices, this one also has a small chin at the bottom. At the back of the device are the triple cameras setup and a fingerprint sensor. It will also have a single or dual SIM variant, both of which will come with a dedicated MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. No word yet on colour options but there will be a few to choose from.
Samsung Galaxy A60 Camera Review
A total of four cameras are on this device – Three at the back and one sitting comfortably on the screen. The ones at the back comprise of a main 32MP shooter with an f/1.7 aperture and PDAF, a secondary 8MP ultrawide sensor with an f/2.2 and PDAF then lastly, a 5MP depth sensor camera with an f/2.2 aperture for depth sensing. The rear camera is equipped with a dual-LED dual-tone flash, Panorama and HDR. It can also shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. The single 32MP front-facing equipped with HDR can also shoot videos in 1080p at 30fps.
Samsung Galaxy A60 Hardware and Software
Samsung ditched their own Exynos SoC and went with a Snapdragon SoC here – the new Snapdragon 675. The SoC has an octa-core processor clocking speeds of up to 2.0GHz alongside an Adreno 612 GPU for gaming and graphics. It has 6GB of RAM on board with 128GB of Internal storage which is expandable via the dedicated MicroSD card slot which can accommodate up to 512GB of additional storage. As expected, it runs the latest Android 9.0 Pie out of the box which has Samsung’s One UI on top of it.
Battery & Network Connectivity
A pretty decent 3,5000mAh battery powers this device which has a 15W fast charging through it’s USB Type-C port, same with the one found on the Samsung Galaxy S10 Trio. It also features 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm jack and GPS.
Samsung Galaxy A60 Price and Availability
Samsung Galaxy A60 will cost $300 (N110,000) when it officially goes on sale. For now, there is no word on when that is.
