Like other devices such as the Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Fit fitness tracker, the new earbuds look like its earlier models. For instance, the Buds shares a similar design although it is 30% smaller (which makes fit during workout sessions). However, there are several enhancements with the latest variant. The features include improved sound due to the integration of AKG, a sub-brand that was acquired with Harman by Samsung in 2016.
With these earbuds, you can enjoy Samsung’s “enhanced ambient sound” mode, which enables you to hear outside noise while using the buds. Each earbud has dual microphones- one on the outside and one on the inside. This assembly offers clear audio when you make a call at a noisy location.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds come with a battery that supports six hours of Bluetooth streaming and five hours of calls. When the battery becomes low, you can use the Buds’case which has seven hours’ worth of charge. After a 15 min charge, you will have about 100 minutes’ worth of energy.
You can also charge the device by placing it on the rear panel of any of the Samsung Galaxy S10 phones. This impressive action works only when you enable the PowerShares functions. The Galaxy Buds also supports tasks such as making phone calls, sending texts or checking the health of your battery.
Surprisingly, the earbuds do not have any dedicated sports features. This means that the smartphone maker intends to enhance more on sound, assistance and offering better battery capacity.
Although the Gear Icon X had nice features, it had issues with its tap controls and Bluetooth. However, we expect that the Galaxy Buds will not have similar problems. While the Buds have a slightly better battery than its predecessor, the former charges faster than the latter, it also beats the Gear IconX by with the use of the S10’s panel to charge.
The wireless buds will be launched on March 8 and are available in black, white and yellow. This product costs $129.99. However, you can get the Buds for free if you pre-order any of the Galaxy S10 new devices.
If the Galaxy Buds satisfies its users, Samsung might have provided an ideal alternative to many wireless earbuds in the market. After all, they are compatible with other devices.
Most of the high-end models cost under $300- the Jabra Elite 65t costs $170, and the Apple AirPods are available at $159. As the Galaxy AirPods are cheaper, it seems they might be worth considering.
